KCUMB College of Biosciences Commencement Ceremonies to Honor Graduates

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 26, 2010) – The fifth commencement ceremonies for Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences' College of Biosciences will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, in Ricci Auditorium on the KCUMB campus.

The College of Biosciences' 61 graduates marks the largest graduating class in its young history. Graduates will receive the master of science in biomedical sciences or the master of arts in bioethics.

Daniel P. Getman, Ph.D., president of the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute, will provide the keynote address. KCALSI is the organization responsible for coordinating and overseeing the region's life sciences initiative by advancing life sciences research, commercialization and workforce development.

Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is a fully accredited, private university, with a College of Biosciences and a College of Osteopathic Medicine. Founded in 1916, its College of Osteopathic Medicine is the oldest medical school in Kansas City, Mo., and the largest in the state.
