KCUMB Again Among Leaders in Donations to ArtsKC Campaign

Among 71 companies and organizations that hosted ArtsKC workplace giving campaigns in 2010, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences' fund-raising total ranked second in employee giving. KCUMB raised more than $16,000 during its weeklong campaign.

"It is important to fund the arts because art makes our city a better and more interesting place to live," said Matt Johnson, multimedia technician in Information Technology and chair of KCUMB's campaign for ArtsKC.

The ArtsKC Campaign raises money from various sources, including individuals, corporate workplace giving campaigns, business investors, foundations and national arts organizations. Since its inception in 2007, the ArtsKC Campaign has raised nearly $2.1 million.
