KCUMB – College of Osteopathic Medicine Educational Consortium

The Osteopathic Post-doctoral Training Institution (OPTI) at KCUMB is known as Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine Educational Consortium (KCUMB-COMEC). It is a consortium formed through affiliation between KCUMB and freestanding hospitals and health care institutions providing medical education to osteopathic medical students, interns, and residents. Affiliation with KCUMB-COMEC as formally established is renewed through participation agreements executed between each hospital or health care institution and KCUMB.

The primary purpose of the consortium is to promote excellence in post-doctoral osteopathic medical education.

The mission of KCUMB-COMEC is to provide postdoctoral instruction and education in the art, science, principles and practice of osteopathic medicine, socio-cultural diversity, and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge, including osteopathic contributions to medicine through scientific research. Members of KCUMB-COMEC have mutual goals to promote the highest possible quality in the continuum of osteopathic pre-doctoral and post-doctoral medical education, thereby enhancing both.
