How do I disable pop-up blockers on my Internet browser?
Pop-up Blockers must be disabled in order for the live streaming video to play. Depending on the browser you are using and whether you are on a Mac (Apple computer) or on a PC, you may need to follow different instructions in order to disable pop-up blockers. Here are some general instructions for the most frequently used Internet browsers:
Will I be able to pause or rewind the live streaming video as it is playing?
No. The video is a live stream, which means that it is happening in real time and you will be unable to pause or rewind the video. After the Commencement Ceremony is over, you will be able to view a recorded video of the presentation in which you will be able to pause, rewind or fast-forward as needed.
Can I start playing the video anytime during the Commencement Ceremony?
Yes, however you will see the live stream as it is currently being presented. You will not be able to start the stream from the beginning of the Commencement Ceremony.
Will a video of the ceremony be available after Commencement is over?
Yes, you can watch the video for up to 30 days after the ceremony by visiting the KCUMB home page and clicking on the Watch Commencement icon.
My computer isn’t playing the live streaming video. What should I do?
First make sure that you have turned off pop-up blockers. Click here for detailed instructions on disabling pop-up blockers.
If you tested your computer for compatibility, you may have received instructions regarding installing software such as Windows Media Player or Flip4Mac. Once you’ve installed the new software, restart your computer and perform another compatibility test. You can also read more about System Requirements to find out if your computer can play the live streaming video.
I can see the Commencement Ceremony video, but I can’t hear it. What should I do?
Make sure your computer has speakers and that the speakers are turned on. You may also be able to control your computer’s sound from your keyboard or desktop. Check to make sure that the sound is not muted and that the volume is turned up.
When I watch the video, it appears grainy. Why?
If you re-sized the video player window to a larger size to fit your monitor, it may look grainy or fuzzy. For maximum viewing quality, try re-sizing the window to a smaller size.
