COMMUNITY CLINICAL FACULTY APPOINTMENT GUIDELINES
Community Clinical Faculty
Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is committed
to recognizing and rewarding preceptors with an appropriate and meaningful faculty
rank. In accordance with the University’s mission, the Promotion in Rank Committee
guidelines have been specifically constructed to provide preceptors a method of
obtaining faculty rank. It is our obligation not only to document the qualifications
and skills of our community clinical faculty, but to also provide educational support
and development that is essential to the delivery of a quality curriculum.
Thank you for considering an appointment to our Community Clinical Faculty. It is
our intent to recognize you for putting forth the time and effort necessary to provide
our students with high quality clinical experiences. We want to do everything we
can to assist you.
Documentation needed in applying for Community Clinical Faculty:
- Letter of recommendation from the Director of Medical Education at your hospital
site.
- Letter of recommendation from the clinical chair of your hospital department. [If not affiliated with a hospital, a letter from a colleague knowledgeable of your clinical
credentials.]
- Completed application form.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Photo copies of licensure and certification documentation.
Upon receiving all the needed information, KCUMB reviews and recommends qualified
candidates to the Promotion in Rank Committee.
