Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences’ Board of Trustees voted in September 2010 to appoint H. Danny Weaver, D.O., as the University’s 12th president and chief executive officer.
A 1984 KCUMB graduate, Dr. Weaver had previously been named as acting president and chief executive officer in December 2009.
Prior to taking a leadership role at his alma mater, Dr. Weaver shared a busy medical practice in Orlando, Fla., with his wife, Debra Albers, D.O., whom he met during medical school at KCUMB. The pair practiced together for more than 23 years.
Dr. Weaver’s late father, Jack Weaver, D.O., graduated from KCUMB in 1964, and the University has played an integral role in the family ever since. Both Jack and Danny Weaver served on the KCUMB Board of Trustees and as chairman of the Board.
Dr. Weaver and Dr. Albers have two sons, Christian and Travis.
