Students will also be instructed regarding, and given opportunities to practice, medical literature evaluation and interpretation. Example articles will be provided related to the study designs being discussed to stimulate small group discussions and to allow students to put in context and to experience the relevance of the material being presented and discussed.
Content will include clinical/experimental trials, as well as commonly utilized epidemiological study methodologies, including: cohort, case-control, and cross-sectional studies. Ten key features of medical literature evaluation will be offered and rehearsed on several current publications.
