KCUMB College of Osteopathic Medicine graduates are sought after for both American Osteopathic Association-accredited and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited postdoctoral programs.Since 2005, KCUMB graduates have acquired internships and residencies at many of the nation’s most prestigious medical institutions, including Harvard University’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Institute, Yale University, the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic.The KCUMB College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Educational Consortium, a medical education consortium formed in 2003, allows University graduates additional opportunity to garner AOA-accredited residency positions at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; Baylor University in Houston; St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs, Mo.; Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.; and Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo. KCUMB co-sponsored programs encompass a variety of specialties, including family medicine, internal medicine and orthopedic surgery.Approximately 60 percent of KCUMB graduates enter ACGME-accredited postgraduate training programs, while 35 percent enter AOA-accredited programs. The remaining 5 percent enter institutions with dual-accreditation.
