Fall CME 2013 Scientific Seminar and Update in Clinical Medicine

    Program Overview

    The Fall 2013 CME Scientific Seminar and Update in Clinical Medicine is designed to address common conditions and timely issues relevant to health-care professionals, particularly those in primary care.

    Fall CME 2013The course will begin Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 18, at the InterContinental Kansas City on the Plaza, with a hands-on workshop on OMT. The main conference lectures will be held on the KCUMB campus.

    Topics focus on specific practice issues and disease states relative to primary care physicians. Chronic health conditions covered include diabetes, asthma and allergies, celiac disease, sinusitis and allergic rhinitis, and cancer.

    Practice management issues addressed are electronic medical records, ICD-10 and maintenance of certification. The conference objectives allow each participant to target their patient population’s needs.

    Global Learning Objectives

    At the end of this conference, participants will be able to (within the capabilities of their practice):

    • Identify key physician-patient communication issues relative to disease management
    • Identify one clinical update applicable to their patient population
    • Implement one clinical decision support into their electronic health record system which is not currently integrated into their EHRs
    • Or if the provider is not currently using an EHR: Apply clinical update or standard of care to practice

    Target Audience

    The target audience for the Fall 2013 CME Scientific Seminar and Update in Clinical Medicine is physicians, physicians in training, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other health-care professionals.
