2013 Fall CME - Accreditation and Credits

  • Accreditation

    Participants are required to complete a pre-test, a post-test and an evaluation in order to receive continuing education credit. Participants may only claim credit for sessions in which they participate. A certificate of completion will be provided to participants based on documentation of actual attendance, completion of a pre-test, a post-test, an evaluation and payment in full.

    Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine

    Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences has requested that the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve this program for 25 credits of AOA category 1-A credits. Approval is currently pending.

    Physicians who complete a post-activity outcome survey will receive 2 additional hours of AOA category 1-A credits.

    Doctors of Medicine

    Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Physician Assistants

    AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 25 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.

    Osteopathic Continuous Certification Component 2

    Osteopathic Continuous Certification Component 2 requires a minimum of 120 credits of CME during each three-year cycle. (Three boards require 150 credits.)

    A minimum of 50 specialty credits must be in the specialty area of certification. Each presentation will identify which specialty credits will apply after the speaker name. Any hours which do not apply to your specialty certification can be applied to your additional required hours.
