Technology

  • KCUMB’s Department of Information Technology provides support for many services and products to help you throughout your academic career, including KCUMB email, KCUMB intranet, Blackboard, GoPrint and PowerCAMPUS Self-service. 

    All students and employees are required to sign KCUMB’s Technology and Software Use Policy, available on the KCUMB intranet.

    Helpdesk and Support

    Experiencing computer difficulties or have a question? We can help. Contact the Helpdesk at helpdesk@kcumb.edu or ext. 7700 (816-654-7700) during regular business hours 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. For pager service, see the intranet. 

    Logging In

    Upon entering KCUMB, you will receive a KCUMB ID. This ID along with a secure password will serve as your login to KCUMB’s IT services and applications. KCUMB prohibits sharing your password with anyone. 

    Wireless Networking

    KCUMB offers wireless Internet access throughout the entire campus, including the Quad! Students are encouraged to use 802.11n wireless network cards.

    KCUMB Email

    GroupWise WebAccess offers a flexible way to access your KCUMB email from any computer or device with Internet access. Information about how to use GroupWise WebAccess can be found on the intranet under Information Technology’s Knowledge Hub. 

    KCUMB Intranet

    KCUMB’s intranet is your central source for campus communication. Know what's happening by checking the intranet often for new announcements, events, campus news, departmental information and more. 

    Blackboard

    Students and faculty at KCUMB use Blackboard Learn 9.1 to access course documents and supplemental materials online. KCUMB is one of the first medical schools to offer Blackboard Mobile Learn.

    PowerCAMPUS Self-Service

    PowerCAMPUS Self-Service is a web-based software system designed to provide students, faculty, administrators and other members of KCUMB’s learning community with online access to pertinent academic information. 

    GoPrint

    GoPrint is available for students for printing from campus, students computers or from your personal laptop using a wireless or Ethernet network connection. Students are provided a generous GoPrint account credit at the beginning of each academic year. Visit the intranet for GoPrint locations, guidelines and prices.  

    Training

    KCUMB’s IT Department offers tips and tutorials on the intranet and hands-on training in the computer lab.
