KCU students and employees can take advantage of the recreational facilities and exciting events on campus. For more activities and fun, check out local Kansas City attractions, including our top 10 list for KC visitors.
The Student Activities Center provides a centralized gathering place and work spaces for students, as well as an expansive fitness center, full-service coffee shop, bookstore and more. The rooftop terrace office views of the Kansas City skyline, as well as another place to study and socialize. Take an online tour to see these facilities.
The Community Garden and Park is located across from campus and offers a walking path, gazebo, fountain, picnic tables and plenty of green space. The garden is maintained by KCU employees and students. Vegetables harvested from the garden are donated to local food pantries and community agencies in the Historic Northeast.
Students can use the basketball courts located on the south end of the student parking lot for pick-up games, intramural competition or just to get in shape.Courts are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekends, unless modified hours of posted. Please contact the Office of Student Affairs to reserve the courts.
All-Campus PicnicKCU welcomes its new students each fall with an all-campus picnic. Faculty, staff and students enjoy lunch at one of Kansas City's local attractions. Previous all-campus events have been hosted at Sporting KC games, Worlds of Fun, Royals games and more!
Student FolliesFollies is a highly anticipated tradition among KCU students, who produce and submit comical skits, spoofs and music videos to be aired during this special evening.
ArtsKC Exhibits & ReceptionsThe University Relations Department hosts local artists and curates the fourth floor of the Administration Building and the first floor of the Student Activities Center with new artwork every quarter. Elegant receptions give students and employees the opportunity to meet the artists.
HomecomingEach fall, KCU alumni return to campus to attend continuing medical education sessions and attend local receptions. KCU employees and students are invited to attend the annual picnic luncheon, usually featuring mouth-watering fare from local Kansas City restaurants.
