Sigma Sigma Phi is the national osteopathic honor and service fraternity. The objective and purpose of Sigma Sigma Phi is to further the science of osteopathic medicine and its standards of practice.
The organization aims to improve the scholastic standing and promote a higher degree of fellowship among students. To qualify for membership, students must be in the top 30 percent of the class, participate in extracurricular activities while in medical school and work to further the osteopathic profession.
Sigma Sigma Phi is very active in community and school service projects. Some of these include a blood drive, presentations on "How to Succeed in Medical School" and the Kansas City Soup Kitchen. Members also present several awards and scholarships.
