All students are required to maintain personal health insurance. Current KCUMB students have been satisfied with both State Farm, which is an insurance carrier, and Insurance Pros, a company that helps individuals find the best coverage for their needs.
KCUMB-COM has partnered with Hartford Life Insurance Company to provide Needle-Stick Insurance coverage for all COM students. The Needle-Stick Insurance policy assists in covering medical expenses incurred by students during KCUMB-related activities that are not covered by the student's personal medical insurance. Please Note: This policy does not replace a student's personal medical insurance policy, and students are still required to carry their own personal medical insurance.
As with every insurance policy, exclusions apply. If a needle-stick injury occurs as a first- or second-year student, please contact Student Affairs for information as to whether your injury qualifies for this coverage and directions for filling out a medical claim form. If a needle-stick injury occurs as a third- or fourth-year student, please contact your OCCE Coordinator for information as to whether your injury qualifies for this coverage and directions for filling out a medical claim form.
