Providing medical students and postgraduate trainees with up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge of topics relating to women’s health
The KCU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology prides itself on providing medical students and postgraduate trainees with updated, comprehensive knowledge of topics relating to women’s health.
Experienced faculty focus their classroom attention on teaching second-year osteopathic medical students the reproductive system, while specialized laboratory sessions allow students to gain valuable experience performing pap smears and pelvic examinations on real patients. Members of the Ob/Gyn team regularly make themselves available to KCU staff, faculty, residents and students as a reference on women’s health-care issues, diseases and treatments.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is also active in the teaching of third- and fourth-year osteopathic medical students during didactics. The department is also responsible for the teaching third-year medical students during their core Ob/Gyn clerkship. The hospital- and clinic-based environments allow students to apply what they have learned to real-world patients.
