Further the application of basic biological truths needed to explain the progression of disease
The KCU Department of Pathology strives to further the application of basic biological truths to the healing arts by equipping students with the skills needed to explain the progression of disease.
Through a non-traditional approach that emphasizes interactive learning, faculty help students develop the ability to recognize common gross and microscopic lesions, order and interpret laboratory tests accurately and efficiently, operate a surgical pathologist’s microscope, evaluate health claims made by others, perform patient presentations with clear clinicopathological correlations, and understand how and why the lesions exhibited cause symptoms and signs.
Pathology faculty seek, foremost, to teach students to think clearly enough about disease to intelligently deal with the unexpected and the uncertain, while building a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
