The KCUMB Department of Pediatrics is an integral part of the academic and research environment at the University. Department faculty believe that every child and family deserves the highest level of health care possible. By practicing evidence-based medicine, the department is able to provide high-quality, comprehensive pediatric care in an enriching academic environment. The department’s commitment to children extends from the University campus to the inner city and surrounding urban and rural communities through service at homeless shelters, health fairs, preventive screenings and a variety of other outlets. Through that commitment, faculty, residents and students do what they can to decrease health disparities while increasing health awareness and striving to meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of children and their families.
