    • Score 1 For Health Parent Evaluation, Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, 07/2011 - 12/2011
      Evaluation collected and assessed feedback from parents whose children are served by the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences-based school health program, Score 1 for Health. Feedback was used to make important changes to the program.
    • Sun Protection for Florida's Children (Project Director), National Cancer Institute, 04/2005 - 03/2009
      The purpose of this proposed project was to develop a school-based comprehensive sun protection intervention with a special emphasis on the use of hats when children are outdoors. The intervention will be targeted to fourth grade children in Florida.
    • Cancer Care and Outcomes for Disabled Medicare Patients (Site Project Director), National Cancer Institute, 09/2003 - 08/2007
      Information from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Program merged with Medicare claims offers important insights into patterns of health care services, costs and outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries with cancer.

      As a condition of my involvement in this program, I complete a minimum of 32 volunteer hours each year. These hours are spent with organizations such as The Children’s Place of Kansas City, DeLaSalle High School, American Heart Walk-KC, etc.
