Gautam J. Desai, D.O.
Associate Professor of Family MedicinePhysician Educator
After earning a doctor of osteopathic medicine from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Desai completed a residency in family medicine at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Mich. He later completed a faculty research enrichment fellowship at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
In addition to serving as associate professor of family medicine and physician educator at KCUMB, Dr. Desai serves as a staff physician at KCUMB Physician Associates located on the St. Joseph Medical Center campus.
Dr. Desai takes pride in performing community service, including supervising health screenings for Score 1 for Health, participating in medical missions to Guatemala for DOCARE International and volunteering medical services at the Kansas City Free Health Clinic. He also serves on the Case Development Committee for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
Dr. Desai is fluent in several languages, including Gujarati, conversational and medical Spanish, and conversational French.
