The
Office of Learning Enhancement offers a summer learning
enhancement program, a supplemental instructor (peer
tutoring) program, individual and group academic counseling
on learning enhancement topics, and National Board
preparation and remediation programs.
The
supplemental instructor program provides for paid peer
tutoring to assist a student having academic difficulty.
Supplemental instructors are current students who have
been recommended by the academic department chairs.
There are approximately 70 students trained as supplemental
instructors who are hired by the University to provide
"free" tutoring to their peers upon request.
The
Office of Learning Enhancement also offers individual
academic counseling to all students who wish to participate,
in addition to offering workshops covering time management,
concept mapping, memory techniques and test-taking strategies.
