It includes the full text and illustrations of Harrison's, the Lange Educational Library, Hurst's the Heart, Goodman & Gilman's Pharmacology, and much more. Alt HealthWatch
Alt HealthWatch is an online, full text database from 120 international periodicals, peer-reviewed journals, academic and professional publications, magazines, consumer newsletters and newspapers, research reports, and association newsletters focused on complementary, alternative, and integrated approaches to health care and wellness.

BioMed Central
This resource has over 150 peer-reviewed, open access journals covering all areas of Biology and Medicine.

Canary Database
The Canary Database contains studies in the biomedical literature that explore the use of wildlife, domestic, and companion animals as "sentinels" for the effects of chemical, biological, and physical hazards in the environment that may be a risk to human health.

CDC
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) website is sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services and offers information on communicable diseases, health topics, and emergency preparedness.

Clinical Pharmacology - PIER
Clinical Pharmacology is a comprehensive drug database that has U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products, and new and investigational drugs. PIER (Physicians’ Information and Education Resource) from the American College of Physicians has been integrated with Clinical Pharmacology and relays medical information from diagnosis through management. It is designed to mirror the way healthcare professionals think.

EBSCOhost Web
EBSCOhost Web has a variety of different databases to search either individually or simultaneously. Databases include MasterFILE Premier, which contains over 2,005 periodicals covering subjects like general reference, business, and health; Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, with 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on different medical disciplines; Alt HealthWatch; Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, and much more.

Encyclopedia of Life Sciences
The Encyclopedia of Life Sciences is a database covering the subjects of: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Ecology, Evolution and Diversity of Life, Functional and Comparative Morphology, Genetics and Disease, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Neuroscience, Plant Science, Science and Society, Structural Biology, and Virology.

ERIC
ERIC provides free access to more than 1.2 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials and, if available, includes links to full text. ERIC is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences (IES).

Google Scholar is a search engine which allows users to search specifically for scholarly literature, including peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, preprints, abstracts, and technical reports from all broad areas of research.

Designed to be used as a comprehensive supplement to the gross lab, this program takes the student step-by-step through dissection procedures using the world's largest collection of cadaveric photographs, hundreds of hand-drawn illustrations, and photos from models and skeletons.

Images.MD
Images.MD accesses more than 50,000 high-quality medical images with authoritative, explanatory text. You can browse this database by specialty or collection, or search by keyword or image type. There is a limit of five concurrent users.

MD Consult/First Consult
MD Consult/First Consult provides online access to Elsevier's clinical information database and is continuously updated with evidence-based support for patient education, diagnosis, and management. It gives access to full text reference books and journals, current events in medicine and searches First Consult as the clinical information tool for primary health care providers. First Consult can be downloaded on your PDA or Palm.

MedCases
MedCases is an interactive web-based program with simulated patient encounters and clinical cases designed to assist in student, resident, and intern education. You will need to register the first time you use MedCases by entering the Access Code and choosing a username and password. Contact the Circulation Desk at the Library (816) 283-2290 for the Access Code.

Medical Letter
The Medical Letter summarizes vital drug facts, focusing on elements such as mechanism of action, pharmacology, clinical studies, adverse effects, drug interactions, dosing, and product pricing. Articles are searchable from 1988 to the present, and it is updated biweekly. This resource also includes access to Treatment Guidelines, Adverse Drug Interactions Program, Drugs of Choice, and Handbook of Antimicrobial Therapy.

MedlinePlus (Consumer)
MedlinePlus brings together information from the National Library of Medicine (NLM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other government agencies, and health-related organizations.

Netter Presenter
The Netter Presenter is a collection of Frank Netter’s anatomy images. The full collection is comprised of more than 1,500 images taken from Netter’s Atlas of Human Anatomy, Netter’s Atlas of Human Embryology, Netter’s Atlas of Human Neuroscience, Netter’s Cardiology Collection, Netter’s Orthopaedics Collection, and Netter’s Atlas of Human Physiology. The Library has The Netter Presenter: Human Anatomy Collection and The Netter Presenter: Human Neuroscience Collection. Both have fully interactive search features and images that can be exported into PowerPoint presentations. These resources are for faculty use, on campus only, and can be accessed from the T drive on campus.

NewsBank
The electronic newspaper editions of the Kansas City Star (1991-current), St. Louis Post Dispatch (1988-current), Springfield News Leader (1999-current), Chicago Tribune (1985-current), Wichita Eagle (1984-current), Washington Post (1977-current), Los Angeles Times (1985-current), Des Moines Register (1999-current), Louisville Courier Journal (1999-current), and Tulsa World (1989-current) are available. Paid ads are excluded.

OSTMED.DR®
The Osteopathic Literature Database is a bibliographic index sponsored by the American Osteopathic Association and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine. It is hosted by the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

OVID (MEDLINE)
Resources searched by OVID are the 1,500+ journals with abstracts and TOCs available in Journals@OVID Full Text, MEDLINE, and Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews (ACP Journal Club, Cochrane, DARE, and CCTR). There is a ten concurrent user limit to access OVID, and a one concurrent user limit on each Library subscribed journal title.

PubMed (MEDLINE)
PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's database that provides access to over 17 million medical citations. PubMed is free to anyone with Internet access and is updated weekly.

ScienceDirect
The Science Direct website is a great place to go for table of content and abstract information from Elsevier journals.

SPORTDiscus
Provided by the Sport Information Resource Centre, SPORTDiscus offers comprehensive, bibliographic coverage of sport, fitness, and related disciplines. This database contains well over 1,200,000 records with journal and monograph coverage going back to 1800; over 20,000 dissertations and theses, and reference to articles in 60 different languages. Access is through EBSCOHost.

TOXNET
TOXNET is made up of several databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, and toxic releases.

UpToDate
UpToDate is a clinical information resource. It is designed to get physicians the concise, practical answers they need when they need them the most, at the point of care.
