Institutional Review Board

Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences established an institutional review board called the Institutional Review Committee of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. This committee was renamed the Institutional Review Board (IRB) in 1988.

As set forth by Federal regulations, the IRB is responsible for the review of all human subjects research at KCUMB. The IRB supports the advancement of research through the careful application of federal regulations, state laws and University policy.

The goal is to create a collaborative relationship with the research community so as to ensure that research with human subjects is conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of Respect for Persons, Beneficence, and Justice.
