Kansas
City University of Medicine and Biosciences-College of Osteopathic
Medicine Educational Consortium (KCUMB-COMEC), OPTI, is a consortium
formed through affiliation between Kansas City University of Medicine
and Biosciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCUMB-COM) and
freestanding hospitals and health care institutions providing
medical education to osteopathic medical students, interns, and
residents. Affiliation with Kansas City University of Medicine
and Biosciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine Educational Consortium
as formally established is renewed through participation agreements
executed between each hospital or health care institution and
KCUMB-COM.
The
primary purpose of the consortium is to promote excellence in
postdoctoral osteopathic medical education.
The
Mission of the KCUMB-COM Educational Consortium is to provide
postdoctoral instruction and education in the art, science, principles
and practice
of osteopathic medicine, socio-cultural diversity, and to contribute
to the advancement of knowledge, including osteopathic contributions
to medicine through scientific research. Members of the KCUMB-COM
Educational Consortium have mutual goals to promote the highest
possible quality in the continuum of osteopathic predoctoral and
postdoctoral medical education, thereby enhancing both.
