Marketing
& University Relations
|
The
Department of Marketing and University Relations functions to
provide accurate, timely, uplifting and positive messages to the
various stakeholder groups associated with the University - alumni,
students, faculty and staff, the Kansas City opinion leaders,
the media, local and national charitable foundations, health,
medical and research organizations and associations, the local
community, politicians, area educators and researchers and physicians,
etc.
This is accomplished through:
-
Special events such as the White Coating Ceremony, Commencement,
Homecoming, meeting and receptions and, when appropriate, dedications
and grand openings and groundbreakings.
-
Publications such as the alumni magazine (KCUMB-COMmunicator),
the campus newsletter (FYI), the rotations newsletter
(THE LINK), the Score One for Health newsletter, programs,
invitations, bookmarks, promotional booklets, etc.
-
Paid advertising in local and national magazines and newspapers.
-
News releases to local and national media regarding newsworthy
events and people.
-
Writing and directing special campaign, recruiting and other
video programs.
-
Banners, flags and posters for students functions and faculty
presentations.
-
Shoot and maintain files of a photographic record of people,
events and the university campus for use in a variety of venues.
-
Obtain photos for and produce the student yearbook (The Stethoscope).
All
of these activities are undertaken with the goal of enhancing
the image of the University and increasing awareness and understanding
of its programs, students, faculty and staff.
