The purpose of Advocates for Diversity in Medicine is to bring future minority physicians together as well as those who are interested in serving the minority population.
One of our goals as an organization is to bring cultural diversity and awareness to the KCU campus as well as the Kansas City community. We hope to foster cultural sensitivity and incorporating what we learn into our daily lives as future physicians. We strive to bring the campus and community together to facilitate a partnership where students can learn through service.
Through active involvement in the community and outreach programs, we want to encourage students from minority groups to look at osteopathic medicine as a career option. We also want to educate and prepare future physicians for a growing minority population. Our goal is to create a student group where all students feel included, where cultural diversity is encouraged, and where our differences are used as a tools of inclusion and education.
