KCU believes in the importance of reaching beyond the boundaries of our campus to serve the needs of the Greater Kansas City area, particularly those communities in the historic Northeast Neighborhood, where the University has remained a fixture since 1916.
KCU student organizations are committed to making a difference in their community. At KCU, students are encouraged to contribute through institutional partnerships, programs and service-learning opportunities that deliver a significant impact to community organizations.
KCU maintains an active involvement in local programs, including tutoring at community centers and public schools, serving local domestic violence and homeless shelters, and providing health screenings for populations without access to care.
KCU's Score 1 for Health program provides yet another opportunity for medical students to give back to the Kansas City community. Through the Score 1 for Health program, KCU medical students and faculty provide free health screenings for more than 40 urban-core elementary schools in an effort to promote good health among children.
