  • Facility Resources: Students will have access to the computers, copiers, clinical simulation laboratory, employee fitness center, intern-resident lounge, intranet, medical library, phones and printers while on duty at the hospital
  • Meal Benefits: Meals available to students while on duty at the hospital
  • Visiting Student Housing: Housing is available at a reduced weekly rate of approximately $25

Duties & Opportunities

  • Student Duties: Students may be required to participate in evening call and weekend rounds as each rotation specifies
  • Didactic Opportunities: Students are required to participate in lectures, clinical skills labs, journal clubs and tumor board activities as assigned
  • OMT/OPP Opportunities: Monthly OMM skill labs are offered as part of didactics and other opportunities for skills development in OMM are provided daily while on clerkships

Unique Site Characteristics

  • Application through VSLO required for fourth-year clerkships
  • Background check and drug screen required annually
  • BLS and ACLS certifications must be current
  • Commutes up to one-hour may be required for some clerkships
  • Drug screen required for third year only
  • Fourth-year core emergency medicine and 1 sub-internship required at an OU Core Site
  • NBOME COMAT Subject Exams are proctored at this core site
  • Orientation provided prior to the first clerkship
  • TB Mask Fit required
  • TB screening required annually
  • Third-year selectives required at an OU Core Site
  • Travel may be required for third-year Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA)
