As an important part of the medical education process, it is vital for students to have the opportunity to learn about and participate in research. Participation in the research process enables students to develop additional knowledge and critical-thinking skills that may result in improved patient care. It is also equally important for faculty members to be challenged in their professions and to continue the lifelong learning process as faculty mentors.
All students must be approved by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) prior to any involvement in on-campus or off-campus research. To obtain the application, contact the Research Compliance Manager, Teresa J. Williams, at 816-654-7605 or email@example.com.
KCU faculty are actively engaged in research and are available to serve as mentors for student research on topics that include public health, the aging process, neurodegenerative diseases and more.
